Welcome
Welcome to the Upstate Model Railroaders (UMRR). Starting in the early 90's UMRR provided a venue for "the love of trains." Since our beginning we have been located in Argyle, Whitehall, Hudson Falls, Fort Edward and several locations in Glens Falls, NY. For 11 years we were located in the basement of the B. B. Fowler Building at 190 Glen Street, where we were an asset to indoor entertainment, tourism and commerce in downtown Glens Falls
In August of 2016 the building was sold and the club was forced to move. We now occupy 2700 square feet in the Chase Sports Complex/ Epic Ventures building at 22 Hudson Falls Road, South Glens Falls , Door 27. We have 4 - 17ft. x 40ft. rooms where we have 6 detailed operating model railroad layouts in G, O, S, N, HO and Z scales.
In addition, the club has traveling modular layouts in every scale, as well as a mobile G scale, double track layout, on a flatbed trailer, which allows us to run trains while being towed in parades. We participate in as many indoor and outdoor public events as possible throughout the year, delighting adults and children of all ages, promoting the club and fostering interest in model railroading.
Club members run trains on our layouts using everything from legacy power and controls to the latest digital command control systems. UMRR Club layouts are unique in that very few model railroad clubs in the U.S. have the space, membership and commitment to build and operate more than one or two different scale layouts.
We try to host a public open house on the last Sunday of every month from noon to 3pm , so “come play with trains”.
The club is accessed by driving around the left side of the building and up to the area in the back. Enter through door #27 and follow the signs to our four layout rooms.
