Welcome to our Web site!

We are the Upstate Model Railroaders. The club is located in the basement of Aimie's Dinner and a Movie located at 190 Glen Street in downtown Glens Falls NY. Please go to the back of Aimie's and use the door to the basement next to Wallabee's Jazz bar. There will be a sign on the door when the club is in session. All are invited. Learn more about the building and operation of a model railroad. Club activities include: Monthly  business meetings, weekly operating sessions every Wednesday evening from 7-10 PM, an annual railroad show in December, and field trips. You don't need to be talented in any area of model railroading since part of the club's purpose and function is to provide instruction in various modeling techniques.
And please patronize Aimie's Dinner and a Movie, they helped make our dream come true!

Donation requests: We are looking for donations of silk plants, the kind that would grow in an outside garden. We will use these plants to decorate the new G scale garden layout. Please contact myself or any member of the club if you can donate a silk plant.

Upcoming events: Attention please see the dates for the posting of  the monthly open houses. The public will be welcome at this events.

CWI Visit June 16th 2008

Adam and Gert display the club layouts to the Community Work & Independence group

Right of Way

August 4th  2008

Saturday Mike White, Joseph Desimone and I participated in the Warren County Youth Fair. We displayed two N Scale layouts and distributed club literature to the public. Sean of the Warren County Cooperative extension thanked us for coming out on a rainy day. Fortunately Joe brought his RV so we were able to stay dry. See the pictures on the photo page. On Tuesday July 29th a group of us went to John Nye's home were we operated his extensive N scale layout. Picture will be on the photo gallery website.

I have placed a link for the video of the club produced by TV 8. This was done during the LARAC open house.   We also had a visit from the CWI workshop people on June 23rd. Adam did a great job handling the group lecture and tour of the club. A few of the members attended the train ride on the UHRR on June 7th. Gert was the lucky one who won one of the cab rides on the Alco. Pictures from the trip are posted. More pictures will be loaded to the photo gallery as soon as I receive them.

Many people expressed an interest in joining the club. Please use the Feedback link to receive an application via email or pick one up at the club any wednesday evening. Click on the Directions link for the address and map information.
